Raw Materials Developer

Totême is looking for a Raw Materials Developer to join the team in Stockholm. In this role you will be in charge of the development and ordering of all raw material components within the collections. You will work closely with the vendors, the Product Development team and the Design team to ensure that the creative and commercial vision is translated into product.



The role 

  • Full development and industrialization of all fabrics, trims, and components within the Totême collections
  • Responsible for data entry in Zedonk, ensuring accuracy is maintained in all steps of the development (including collection of certifications, non-cities documentation, technical sheets, etc.)
  • Build and maintain a close partnership with the Design team, act as their technical partner and attend meetings to provide feedback on technical feasibility and brainstorm solutions to ensure that the design vision is translated into product
  • Manage the sustainability aspect of all raw materials, making sure the data is always accessible for the Sustainability team and that all developments meet Totême’s sustainability standards
  • Responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with vendors, developing a strong working knowledge of vendor capability and availability to meet demands
  • Seasonal research, development and presentation to the Designers of new concepts within trims and fabrics 
  • Set and implement the raw materials critical path in collaboration with the Product Development and Design teams. Ensure that deadlines are adhered to and followed-up upon 
  • Recognize, flag and make recommendations to mitigate any risks/challenges identified at all stages
  • Responsible for ordering and delivering raw materials on time, to set quality and sustainability standards, and within budget to achieve target margins
  • Responsible for ensuring functionality (including consistency and standardization) and ensuring that products are fit for purpose to the customer, brand and business. This includes ongoing risk assessment during the development process and taking action on any issues
  • Responsible for ensuring sourced raw materials are fit for purpose in the Chinese market
  • Support the Product Development team in liaising with vendors in preparation for production
  • Ensure that Zedonk is kept updated and accurate at all times
  • Work closely with the Product Developers to ensure that a good relationship is maintained with supplies and shipments delivered on time 
  • Organize, file and archive swatches and trims
  • Update collection fabric books ahead of collection presentations


Your profile

  • Experience with fabric development
  • Proven technical knowledge of trims and components
  • A skilled user of PLM, MS Excel and the Adobe package

  • Strong communication skills, able to effectively share information with the team in a clear, concise way
  • Interest in and understanding of the fashion industry, knowledgeable of trends, the market and the luxury consumer
  • Fluent in English
